See prison where Okah allegedly escaped from

– Prison sources say the alleged mastermind of the October 1, 2010 bombing has not been seen since the alleged jail break

– Informs, however, that he is being interrogated

Sahara Reporters has obtained photos of the prison where Charles Okah, the alleged mastermind of the October 1, 2010 bombing, reportedly escaped from.

The Niger Delta militant, contrary to the report of his escape, still remained in prison custody, but pictures have surfaced of the Kuje prison walls where he was said to have scaled to leave the prison premises.

According to the prison sources, Okah has not been seen since the jail break but it was stated further that he was being interrogated by prison officials.

Okah, a member of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), has been on trial for the 2010 Independence Day bombing that killed 27 people during the country’s 50th independence anniversary.

Francis Enobore, the public relations officer of the Nigerian Prisons Service claimed he was in touch with security operatives on ground and that Okah was still in detention.

“It is not true, Charlse Okah is still in custody. I have been in touch with our men in the prison facility and there is nothing like that [Okah escaping],” he said.

The militant infamously tried to commit suicide in court in 2015 after he addressed Justice Gabriel Kolawole and claimed that former president, Goodluck Jonathan was responsible for his travails.
