A Nigerian, Nduba Joseph is expected to face the full wrath of the law after he was arrested by security operatives in India for selling narcotics.

It was reported that the 25 year old was apprehended on Monday, July 4 near Indiranagar Metro station.

Joseph who hails from Anambra state was found with six grams of cocaine worth Rs 30,000.

Following a tip-off to the police that the accused was going to sell cocaine at the station, the police set a trap and caught him.

The police said: “Joseph revealed that he got the narcotic substance from a person from TC Palya. He used to approach employees of private firms and college students to sell the narcotics. Efforts are on to trace the person who supplied the substance to him.”

“Another case has been registered against Joseph for overstaying in the country. He had come to the city in November last year on a business visa, which expired in May.”

It is not known if the death penalty will be requested by the prosecutor as India has a law that punishes drug trafficking with death.
